Mark Diomede & The Juggling Suns Project
Once referred to as one of the Jam Scene’s “Best Kept Secrets” by Relix magazine, Juggling Suns have been abducting fans from New Jersey to Japan since 1997. Their roots lie in the diverse musical styles of old school psychedelia, jazz, bluegrass, funk, trance, dance and pure rock ‘n’ roll, and those roots are the fuel for their legendary on-stage improvisation. Juggling has played to packed audiences across the globe, appeared in the Julia Roberts movie Runaway Bride, performed personally for the NBA’s Bill Walton, and won consecutive awards for Best Jam Band at New Jersey’s Asbury Music Awards (2002- 2003). The Suns blend their well-crafted original music with their own take on covers from Bill Withers to The Bee Gees, striving to create a one of a kind experience at every show. In 2003, guitarist Mark Diomede received the Asbury Music Awards Lifetime Achievement Award for his undeniable contributions on the East Coast live music scene.
The Battery Electric
When music-lovers address the burgeoning Asbury Park local rock scene of the last few years, and discuss all the great bands running wild on the beachfront circuit, The Battery Electric should rank atop their lists.
The energetic hard-rock quartet formed in 2012 has built itself into one of the more popular — and tirelessly working — groups in what has become New Jersey’s most important rock n’ roll hub.
“It’s definitely a competitive scene, and there’s a lot of folklore about it, and we play with our peers and are inspired by them,”guitarist Brent Bergholm says. “When we leave the area, people get very excited to hear we are from Asbury Park. It’s a badge of honor.”
The band’s gutsy debut LP, 2013’s “Weaving Spiders,” was recorded in Asbury Park with Jersey punk veteran Pete Steinkopf, of The Bouncing Souls, and boasts an infectious blend of staunch guitar riffs, driving drums and a timeless rock vocal from singer Ron Santee, whose bluesy tone would have drawn as large an audience 40 years ago as it does today.
ShwizZ is a unique cast of characters reigning from New York. Best described as a melting pot of funk and progressive rock, this giant, original sound will be sure to put a smile on your face. The band’s variety and depth allows for lovely twists of improvisation and spontaneity spiked with technical prowess and musical complexity.
Over the years the group has shared bills with many notables including Jeff Beck, Primus, Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater), Kung Fu, Dopapod, Consider The Source, and more. ShwizZ can be found gigging all over the northeast and you won’t be surprised to find them playing at your favorite festival or club for years to come.
Originally known as Something About January, Deal Casino were formed in Sparta, New Jersey in 2013 by guitarist/vocalist Joe Parella, guitarist Joe Cowell, bassist Jon Rodney, and drummer Mike Linardi. The group played upbeat, earnest alternative pop/rock, along with slower, more reflective numbers. After self-releasing two EPs in 2013 (Cocaine Love and The Runaways), the band moved to Asbury Park, New Jersey, and became a prominent fixture in the local music scene, playing dozens of shows at local venues such as The Saint and The Stone Pony. The group’s third EP, Heck, appeared at the end of 2014, and the band continued booking shows and working on additional EPs.
The overarching sonic identity of this New York City-based quartet was forged over the last five years, starting when it was a tenacious duo comprised of guitarist/singer and primary songwriter Jeremy Hilliard and harmonicist/rhythm guitarist/singer-songwriter Ryan Rightmire. As a duo, Turbine started to experiment in odd time signatures and unorthodox compositional structures as they crafted songs that were both accessible and upbeat, despite their remarkable complexity. Now rounded out with Adam Chilenski on bass and Dale Paddyfote on drums, the band has appeared at such renown festivals as Bonnaroo, Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Wakarusa and Gathering Of The Vibes.
“Their sound is exhilarating, with flurries of melodic guitars and wailing harp propelling complex improvisations.” -Relix
“Their music wails, whispers and directs our thoughts to the deeper mysteries of life.” -Americana UK

With each member bringing different influences and styles to the group, DZD’s sound is made up of a distinct reggae tone that is incorporated into their hard hitting rock style. DZD’s lyrics depict the relationships, dreams, failures, and people that have inspired or slept with the band. Their high-energy live shows feature multi-part vocal harmonies and radical solos from guitar, bass, drums, and sax. Sometimes Dale takes his clothes off on stage, too.
